Strategy & Progress.

When the last quarter of 2019 commenced, I made a resolution.

To focus more on my professional and career life.

It took lots of adjustments.

I started an online HR course on Alison, dusted and polished my LinkedIn profile, activated my free one month premium, shared daily and weekly tips on Human Resource Management, and set to conquer.

I made lots of connections, intellectual and profitable ones whom I learnt lots from. Top executives of workforce groups and multinationals. I followed their posts and was thrilled with all I was learning. They even aided my writings there on LinkedIn.

Towards the ending of 2019, December precisely, I got two mentorship requests. One from LinkedIn and another from Facebook. Young, vibrant and ambitious ladies who wished to learn from me.

Sincerely, my first reaction to the requests was shock.

To me, I barely knew anything. Just an enthusiast myself trying to scratch the surface and here am I getting mentorship requests.

I knew I didn’t have much to offer them, so I turned down the requests. Not rudely of course. I instead advised they follow my posts and learn what they can. I also pointed them towards trending and high profiled HR professionals whom I understudy and learn from, and suggested they do same.

My point?

1) The little you think you know, you can share and let others learn from it.

2) You do not have to be at the peak to impact lives and careers.

3) If you cannot help, point them to the right path/direction.

Good Evening. 😊
